| Additional information | Unaccounted Gas: The City of Trinidad believes the high percentage for unaccounted gas appears to be an ongoing issue that we are working to resolve. The reason that we believe that it is occurring is partly due to how our billing process utilizes four billing cycles, which results in our gas meters being read in a manner that captures parts of the previous month into the current month. We strongly believe that this practice may be contributing to a skewed percentage of unaccounted gas losses, and we are confident that the integrity of our system is intact and that there are no leaks. We are proposing to our billing department to change when the meters are read so that each meters are being read based on full calendar months. This adjustment could enable us to better track our gas consumption and pinpoint any discrepancies more accurately. |
