Narrative
At approximately 7:26 am on september 11, a painting contractor arrived onsite at our butte osage station location and noticed oil being released from an appurtenance on tank 02 and contacted the casper control room. The ccr contacted the local supervisor, who sent field operations to the site. Bridger operators arrived on site at approximately 7:55 am and confirmed the release. Operators were able to close a manual tank valve and isolate the damaged appurtenance to stop the release of crude oil. Operators were able to identify a damaged nipple on a tank valve as the source of the release. This damaged nipple was replaced and the station returned to normal operations. All released product remained on bridger-controlled property. A vac truck arrived onsite and removed free product, which was reinjected into the system. Contaminated soils were gathered and stored onsite for future disposal, as per wyoming deq requirements. The release did not impact any wildlife or water, and additional remediation is not anticipated. Disposal costs have not been finalized as of this submittal, so additional cost updates will be reported when disposal is completed.
