Narrative
On 8/15/2025 the python 54-1-37, a dbm oil services pipeline, sustained a small leak near a pig trap, releasing 1.23 bbls to ground. A half inch reducer union on a thermal expansion line loosened due to the stress induced from the height of the line. Technicians onsite were able to isolate the 1 valve on the thermal line, tighten the union and stop the leak. On september 22nd, the thermal expansion was remediated, lowering the vertical height of the line and replacing the half inch reducer union with a 1 inch, thereby reducing the vibration of the line and stress on the union.
