Narrative
At 4:10 pcc received a call from a third party contractor about a potential leak at raptor station. Pcc began to trend data and noticed a drop in pressure then notified the local operator. Operator asked pcc to shut in the upstream and downstream valves and to shut down the station. Operator arrived on site at 6:30 and began to investigate the release. While investigating the operator discovered a broken threaded nipple fitting off the transmitter. Once pump was isolated and blocked in the operator removed the broken nipple and installed a new nipple. The transmitter was reinstalled on the new nipple and the station placed back into normal operations at 7:00. It is believed that the release was the result of vibration due to misalignment of the pump. To prevent recurrence, operations is in the process of relocating transmitters from the pipe to a nearby setting. A supplemental will be submitted once final invoices have been submitted.
