Narrative
On thursday june 26th, 2025, an operations technician working onsite noticed crude oil leaking from the excavation area associated with the recent hg1 valve replacement. At approximately the same time, the control room was investigating a cpm warning alarm. The operations technician immediately contacted the operations center to initiate a shutdown of the 40" capline crude line and notified supervision. It was discovered that the drain plug in the recently replaced valve had dislodged, resulting in the release. The following wildlife was impacted by the release: one alligator, one bird, one fish, one annelid, and three turtles. An investigation is ongoing and supplemental will be filed upon completion.
