Narrative
Local operations observed a small amount of crude oil surfacing in the area at the air-to-soil interface at the suction side of the 24" tcs booster. It was decided to exploratory dig to determine if the leak source could be located. After excavation, a pinhole was located on the 6 o'clock position of the pipe. The line was isolated and the area with the leak site was cut out. Permanent repairs were made that enabled the piping to be re-routed aboveground to reduce future dead-leg corrosion risk.
