On october 8th, 2025, a relief valve at the seneca lake storage facility activated and vented 20,730 mcf of natural gas into the atmosphere. A kinder morgan employee arrived at the location and confirmed the release. The maop was not exceeded and the gas venting lasted for approximately 3hrs and 7 minutes. An internal investigation is currently ongoing, and a final report will be submitted once the investigation details are finalized.
