Narrative
At 8:43 am central time a relief valve on the interconnect between epng lines 1115 and 1102 activated at 568.7 psig releasing 5529 mcf of natural gas before reseating at 536 psig. The valve activated below its set pressure of 591 psig. The increase in pressure was caused when the downstream plains compressor station went offline due to a power interruption, which backed up pressure on the suction side. The station was restored to service eliminating the pressure backup, and there was no repeat of the valve activation.
