Narrative
On august 24, 2025 at 9:00 pm ngpl staff were performing routine checks before pigging operations and found a 2" vent valve on the compressor fuel supply line was open causing a continuous gas release. They quickly shut off the manual fuel supply valve to stop the leak. 9047 mcf of natural gas was released, there were no injuries or fire, and no emergency services were required. The investigation revealed that a power interruption to the station caused an air compressor to fail. The loss of air pressure caused a 2" vent valve on the compressor fuel supply line to fail-open as designed. The station was set to manual operations at the time which suppressed the alarm to gas control.
