On august 9, 2025, at 4:22 pm cst unit 5500 at bertrand compressor station experienced a shutdown triggered by multiple alarms. A technician responded to the call and discovered that a coil failure had caused the relay output card, which controls all operating valves of the unit, to malfunction. The technician arrived onsite at 6:10pm and at 6:33 pm cst, the technician was able to manually close the valves, stopping the gas release to the atmosphere and stabilizing the situation. Investigation is ongoing. Supplemental will be submitted upon completion. 2025-09-08 (supplemental) supplemental report has been submitted due to a data entry error associated with the volume released and cost. The correct information has been added and, once the cause has been determined a supplemental/final report will be submitted.
