Narrative
Kinetica was notified by another operator of small bubbles in the water in the vicinity of our pipeline at 15:21 on 8/7/2025. The next opportunity to flyover was 8/8/2025 in the morning. At 09:30, kinetica confirmed discovery and notified nrc. The pinhole leak occurred in vr-187 block on a 12" dead leg section of pipe off a side valve assembly. Kinetica isolated upstream at vr 245 at 11:30 and downstream a our pecan island facility at 16:21 both isolations were made via manual valves. To repair the leak, compression equipment onshore was used to pull down the pipeline to safe working pressure. Divers then disconnected the 12" spool piece with pinhole and installed a blind flange. Pipeline was pressured back up in increments of 100psi until back to normal operating pressure. No leaks were detected. Pipeline is back in service.
