Narrative
On may 25, 2025, at 7:57 a.M., while maintenance was being performed by an energy transfer company (etc) employee and a contract employee, the west slash unit 2 compressor, caught fire. The etc employee notified the operations manager who then notified emergency services. The employee and contract employee activated the emergency shut down system (esd) successfully shutting down the compressor station. Both the etc employee and contract employee were injured when the fire ignited. When emergency services arrived at the location the two injured received medical attention and the fire was extinguished. Due to the extent of the fire to the compressor, the cost of repairs are estimated to exceed $145,400. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
