Narrative
On july 29, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.M., atmos energy received notification that a third-party excavator had damaged a 24-inch steel gas main. An atmos energy technician arrived on site at 8:17 a.M. And requested additional resources at that time. The leak was graded at 9:08 a.M. The release was secured at approximately 3:45 p.M. On july 29, 2025. Confirmed discovery occurred at 5:15 p.M. On july 29, 2025, when an estimate of the permanent repairs was presented, which exceeded the reporting threshold. After further investigation, it was determined that the damage by the third party was attributable to locator error.
