On april 9, 2025, at 15:10 est, anr pipeline's gas control received a scada alarm on anr lateral 421 near fennville, michigan and a notification was received from the public that a piece of equipment had impacted the pipeline. Upon arrival at the site, the technician confirmed the gas release was caused by a third-party contractor's equipment. Immediate actions were taken to isolate the pipeline by closing the upstream and downstream valves. No injuries, hospitalizations, or ignition occurred. Over 5500 homes and 200 businesses were impacted due to third-party damage in which no one call ticket had been submitted by the excavator. Gas was restored on anr lateral 421 and returned to service april 11th, at 17:14 est.
