Narrative
While grading the area, the grader struck the gas main releasing gas to atmosphere. The released gas ignited damaging the grader and an additional two pieces of construction equipment. The fire service responded to the incident. Nicor gas was contacted and responded to the incident. The fire was contained to area of the damage and was allowed to burn by the fire service. The fire was extinguished soon after nicor gas crews stopped the gas flow at three locations away from the fire.
