Narrative
On april 10, 2025, a third-party excavator damaged an atmos energy 8-inch polyethylene gas main. Atmos energy received a notification from the kaufman county sheriffs department at 3:29 p.M. An atmos energy technician arrived on site and graded the leak at 04:19 p.M. The technician requested additional resources at 4:24 p.M. The release was secured at 01:09 a.M. On april 11, 2025. Confirmed discovery occurred on april 11, 2025, at 10:57 a.M. When an estimate for permanent repairs was presented that exceeded the reporting threshold. After further investigation, it was determined that the third-party excavator was digging, by open trench, outside the area described in 811 locate ticket. The main was approximately 25 feet deep where damaged. The permanent repair was completed on april 12, 2025.
