Narrative
At 16:12 on march 31, 2025, ugi received a call from the local fire department alerting ugi of a main break on ugi's high pressure 6" steel main line. Once on site it was discovered that a large diameter decaying tree had fallen onto the main that span a drainage trench. This tree was outside of ugi's right of way for the pipeline. Ugi evacuated eleven individuals from eight local homes. Ugi verified and utilized a critical valve to stop flow of gas and make the situation safe at 16:50 isolating the leak and shutting down one industrial and one commercial customer. 58 feet of 6" steel was replaced to restore the pipeline back in service. Ugi is conducting an ongoing investigation. Costs for this event are still being calculated. A supplemental report will be submitted once the cause has been confirmed, and costs are finalized.
