Narrative
Kgs operates a 10" 58 psig maop steel pipeline located out front and under the sidewalk of 428 s. Main street in hutchinson kansas. On february 22 at approximately 9:07 a.M. A girth weld in the line cracked and began leaking. Gas migrated from the leaking weld into the structure at 428 s main and subsequently ignited. There were no injuries or fatalities. Kgs is participating in an investigation with ntsb, PHMSA, and other parties.
