Narrative
On january 26, 2025, at approximately 8:19 am, pgs received a notification of a vehicle accident at the 16900 block of tamiami trail. Upon arrival, it was confirmed that a vehicle drove through the protective guardrail and struck pgs' aboveground regulator station. The impact resulted in an ignition, which was mitigated by the local fire department. To ensure safety and make the scene safe, the emergency valve that controls the affected section of the system was closed at 10:33 am stopping the escaping gas. Approximately 89 customers experienced service disruptions due to the damage. A new regulator station was installed on the night of the incident, with all repairs completed the same night. Restoration of the pipeline began the next day at 8:00 am and were completed on tuesday, january 28, 2025. The impact of the incident is still being evaluated with additional information supplied in future reporting.
