Narrative
On wednesday, december 25, 2024, at approximately 0524 hours, pg&e was notified of a structure fire at 105 lawn way in capitola. On december 27, at 0930 hours, pg&e confirmed there was gas escaping from the 1" distribution main upstream to the meter set. There were 8 gas customers affected. Service was restored to the customers on 12/28/24 at approximately 1434 hours. Fire department, police department were on scene and the area was blocked off and traffic rerouted. This incident was reported to the DOT (incident report #1419941/1420056) and cpuc once estimated damage was confirmed to be at least $145,400. The incident is still under investigation and the cause of incident is yet to be determined. Updates will be provided once available.
