On 10/23/24 at 14:57, operations was driving the row and noticed crude oil on the ground near 23002.04 - truscott to childress 10-inch line. The control center was notified and the line was shutdown and segment isolated. Once the line was excavated it was discovered the leak was coming from a pinhole. The line was temporarily clamped to stop the leak. Approximately 248 barrels of crude oil was released into the ground. Clean-up contractors removed product and contaminated soil. The investigation determined the leak was caused by external corrosion. Due to the extent of the corrosion, the section was cutout and replaced before returning to service on 10/26/24 at 16:00.

Narrative
On 10/23/24 at 14:57, operations was driving the row and noticed crude oil on the ground near 23002.04 - truscott to childress 10-inch line. The control center was notified and the line was shutdown and segment isolated. Once the line was excavated it was discovered the leak was coming from a pinhole. The line was temporarily clamped to stop the leak. Approximately 248 barrels of crude oil was released into the ground. Clean-up contractors removed product and contaminated soil. The investigation determined the leak was caused by external corrosion. Due to the extent of the corrosion, the section was cutout and replaced before returning to service on 10/26/24 at 16:00.
