Narrative
On 10/23/2024 at approximately 22:00, crude oil was discovered within the dike containment of tank 1583. The leak was immediately reported, tank was isolated, and leaked stopped. Operations transferred the oil from tank 1583 to another tank. The leak was coming from a failed tank mixer seal. Approximately 10 barrels of crude oil was released within the tank dike. An on-site vacuum truck responded to collect any free product. Contractors cleaned up remaining product and removed contaminated soil. The investigation determined the cause of the leak was due to a failure of the mixer bearing seal. The mixer has been locked out sealing the leak and tank 1583 was returned to service.
