Narrative
On 10/3/24 enterprise pipeline contacted dow pipeline - cayuse about a leak in a shared corridor. Leak was located in a shallow drainage ditch with about 1 inch of water. Enterprise operator noticed small bubbles in the water. Dow (cayuse) operator arrived at enterprise's site at 11:04 am and was safety orientated then escorted to the leak site at 11:12 am. Dow operator called control room to shutdown upstream pump station at 11:15 am. At 11:38 am pressure on the pipeline was 810 psig, which activated the low-pressure automatic valve downstream to close. At this time the bubbles in the water stopped, which verified the leak source was dow pipeline - cayuse. The cayuse pipeline was flared down to 0 pressure then excavated for repair. The leak was found on the pipe at approximately the 10 o'clock position. Leak segment was cut out and replaced. The volume of product that leaked was not above the reportable limit. The repair cost was above the reportable limit.
