At 17:30 operations discovered a leak on the east houston to hearne pipeline fast loop sample pump. East houston to hearne was pumping outbound and the fast loop sample pump was running under normal operating conditions. Once it was determined the fast loop sample pump had failed the manual suction and discharge valve to the fast loop pump were closed. Contaminated soil was removed and put in roll-off boxes and pump was replaced.
