Final update: the investigation has been completed, and we have updated part g, internal corrosion, q7 to include microbiological. _________________________________________________________________________________ on the afternoon of september 4, 2024, at 16:38, the pipeline control center (pcc) initiated a station shutdown at the helena terminal after receiving an alarm from the mregz sensor system. By 17:00, pcc dispatched operations personnel to the terminal, initiated internal company alert messages, and contacted the leak detection team to analyze the situation. Operations personnel arrived at the terminal at approximately 17:30. At 17:35 operations personnel verified a release of crude oil coming from tank 28616 discharge manifold. Pcc closed the tank outlet valve on tank 28616. Additionally, upon advice from the operations team, pcc also closed the suction valve 0501 at 17:47 to assist with the isolation of the area. The oil spill response organization (osro) was notified at 18:15 and arrived onsite at 22:23. Clean-up efforts began on september 4, 2024, and were completed by september 5, 2024. Pipeline repair was completed on september 6, 2024. An investigation into the incident is currently ongoing, and further details will be provided once the report is finalized.
