On 08/29/24 at approximately 18:30, a landowner notified operations about oil on the ground at mp 79450.4 of the 21001.09 10-inch bronte to talpa (amdel system). The line was immediately shutdown and the segment isolated. The line was excavated and a through-wall pinhole was found at the 05:10 o'clock position. Approximately 225 barrels of crude oil was released. Clean-up contractors removed free product and impacted soil is being remediated. On 08/30/24, a plidco clamp was installed to temporarily repair the leak while the line was returned to service. The failed section of pipe was cut out and replaced. The failed section was sent to a laboratory for examination. The investigation determined the cause of the accident was due to external corrosion.
