At 14:40 on june 16th, 2024 operations personnel conducting daily facility inspections at dallas terminal found a couple gallons of jet fuel released from an air eliminator on a filter vessel. The pipeline was immediately shut down, the affected section was isolated and cleanup activities were initiated. During cleanup, additional jet fuel was discovered and the trrc was notified. Further investigation found a crack on the bottom of the air eliminator likely due to continuous vibration during movements. The air eliminator was isolated and removed then the line was placed back into service. To prevent a reoccurrence, an upgraded air eliminator will be installed, and the existing tubing will be replaced and upgraded for additional support and to minimize vibration.
