Narrative
On june 18, 2024, during scheduled pipeline maintenance of the sfpp ls-111 tipton valve, km employees discovered the locks to the entry gate and the valve vault had been cut off. Upon inspection of the valve, km employees found the plugs on the valve's packing tube and body bleed were removed, and a shower fitting installed in the body bleed. As a result, approximately 36.6 gallons of product were released into the vault. The location was secured, local law enforcement notified, and the location was remediated by km personnel. All relevant california agencies were notified.
