Narrative
On june 5th, 2024, williams oil gathering was conducting dewatering/oil filling of the whale oil export pipeline segment number 20556 (row ocs-g29496). During the seawater discharge portion of the operation, the rov feed captured what was assumed to be an oily water mix dissipating upward from the water discharge point (ac-730 plet). As soon as this anomaly was noticed, all flow on the pipeline ceased and at 21:35 no signs of discharge remained visible from the rov. The flow rate at the time of the assumed oily water discharge was approximately 6.94 bbl/minute, the discharge lasted from 21:05 to 21:16 placing the discharge total at approximately 76.34 bbls of assumed oily water (an undetermined combination of seawater, mono ethylene glycol, and crude). Assumed volume of crude oil is 7.71 bbls of the total released assumed oily water.
