Narrative
Company employee arrived on site as part of routine duties and observed leak on above ground piping. Employee then proceeded to isolate the affected piping and notified production supervisor of situation. Spill calculation was performed and estimated at 1.35 bbls of crude oil. Notification was made to texas railroad commission by production supervisor and determination made that no emergency response or osro resources needed as release was contained to company owned/controlled property and no further danger to public or environment existed. Piping was evacuated and disassembled as part of investigation. Pinhole due to corrosion was observed in pipe and sent off for metallurgical evaluation, but field examination by company sme's indicates corrosion due to mic. Remediation of soil is ongoing at the site, temporary spool installed in affected piping, and system was restarted. Plan for permanent repair is replacement with internally coated spool piece.
