On may 21st, 2024, the pipeline operations center (poc) dispatched field personnel to investigate a tank level deviation alarm at patoka station. Upon release confirmation operations immediately began work to locate the source and drain the tank. Investigation began near a known dead-leg section of pipe built for future expansion. Upon excavation, the release source was found to be the valve body on the dead-leg tank line. The valve was removed, pipe was inspected, and the valve was replaced with a blind. The tank was returned to normal operation on may 24th, 2024.
