Narrative
On 11/07/2024 at 22:39 mst gas control received a "station trip" alarm and called a technician to the site. Due to heavy snow and ice on the roads, the technician arrived on site at 23:55 mst on 11/07/2024. Upon arrival, the technician confirmed that a discharge vent valve was venting natural gas. At 00:10 am mst on 11/08/2024, the technician manually closed the vent valve and the station was isolated. At 00:39 mst on 11/08/2024 an erl call was initiated and began at 00:55 mst. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the most probable cause of the unintentional opening of the vent valve was due to a loss of dc power at the corroded terminal strip or the intermittent failure of the dc solenoid valve. Necessary repairs were made and the station was restarted on 11/09/2024 at 13:30 mst.
