Narrative
On 11/05/2024 at approximately 04:45, due to an increasing flow rate that could not be controlled with a set point change, gas control called a technician to investigate the regulators at the efm 4 to net mexico meter station. Upon arrival, the technician found the station blowing gas to the atmosphere and discovered a broken 1" nipple on the #2 regulator run. At approximately 06:00, the technician shut the upstream manual valve and verified that the downstream pneumatic valve was closed. The technician then throttled the #1 regulator to achieve the desired set point given by gas control. At 06:30, the technician replaced the nipple with an xxh nipple, installed a new 1" valve, reconnected the tubing, and returned the station to normal service.
