Narrative
Commercial power was lost at the epng plains station for about three hours due to weather conditions and caused pressure to back up at the eunice compressor station. The pressure backup into the downstream facilities on the epng line 1102 led to the actuation of the relief valve outside of the eunice compressor station. The employees on site identified the incident when it occurred and notified the control room. The control-room maintained contact with employees at the plains and eunice stations as the incident unfolded. Since employees were on site at both the epng plains station and eunice station during the initial occurrence of the event, the response was very timely, and the vent was estimated to last approximately 45 minutes. A km employee manually shut a valve under the pressure relief valve to stop the release.
