Narrative
On november 3, 2024, at 9:22 pm, the control center discovered a loss of communication with the claude compressor unit. The operations team arrived at the claude, texas, compressor station (station no. Tx-083) at 10:30 pm and discovered that the 8-inch blowdown/vent was open. The inlet and outlet valves to the compressor did not fully close causing gas to keep entering the compressor and escaping through the vent valve. The side valves were closed by 10:37 pm and the venting stopped. The operations team determined that the compressor unit's program logic controllers went down causing the loss in communication. The compressor then shutdown and vented as it was supposed to do. The plcs went down due to the main power supplies shorting out. The compressor was able to be brought back online at 12:29 am on 11/4/2024. The cause of the power supply short is still under investigation.
