Narrative
On 10/2 operations noticed a natural gas odor while doing valve maintenance at the prospector valve site on the marcus hk woodbury a (line mhwda-t-t-t). Operations detected a leak near the buried valve j353 and, due to the depth, required assistance to excavate. On 10/3 they were able to hand excavate the area enough to visually inspect the valve. A leak on a 12" valve was found based off bubbles were coming out of the bolted connection between the valve bonnet and body. On 10/5, segment was isolated and customer was utilized to draw down pressure to 300 psi prior to recompressing remaining product down to 25 psi, which was then vented to atmosphere through a charcoal filter. Valve was cut out of the line and replaced with straight pipe. Cause of the leak was determined to be a worn o-ring seal in the bonnet of the valve.
