Narrative
A relief valve at the US steel #1 town border station vented from 2:30 am to 5:16 am. The primary regulator got liquids into the pilot. The filter was clogged also. The secondary regulator started as it should once the 5 psi differential was reached. Line pressure was at 550 psig and dropped to 430 psig. Operations personnel were notified at 2:55 am and the on-call operations person was notified at 3:05 am. From the office it is a 1.5 hrs drive to virginia, mn. The upstream meter regulator vents at 2419 mscf per hour for a total of 6652 mscf. The event was determined to be a reportable condition at 5:55 am when the volume exceeded 3 mmcf. The nrc was called at 6:15 am. Report #1410695 operations rebuilt the regulator. The heater had gone out the week prior but was brought back online. Temperature didn't get low enough to set off alarms. Transcanada does provide gas from the chicago area that does have a little moisture that condenses at certain dew points.
