Narrative
On 7/5/2025 southern star central gas pipeline (sscgp) gas control was called at 3:40 am cdt about a possible gas leak and noticed a rapid pressure loss and flow changes at the saginaw compressor station. After initial review of the pressure drop it was determined at 4:07 am that the gas loss would be over the reportable threshold and the nrc was notified at 4:22 am. At 4:13 am, the on-site operator personnel determined it was a pressure relief valve (prv) activation that was the source of the pressure drop and shut in the prv at 4:14 am, no actual maop exceedance occurred. It was determined that the prv malfunction was due to a loose blowdown ring. The prv was repaired, tested and recertified with a set point of 715 psig and placed back in service on 7/5/2024 at 6:40 pm cdt.
