The blowdown was completed at 1:04 pm, june 16, 2024. On june 16, 2024, crews moved in and began excavating pipeline 3019, 18-inch mainline, and 2-inch tap at 5:20 pm. Operations closed the buried 2-inch tap valve that serviced the centerpoint farm tap. On june 18, 2024, at 7:15 am, et made 48-hour follow-up notifications to the nrc. Gas lost: 3.432 mmcf was unintentional, and 3.194 mmcf was from blowdown. Supplemental: at approximately 2:00 a.M. On june 16, 2024, an individual was traveling at a high rate of speed on county road 190. The individual lost control of the vehicle, left the road, and plunged into the center point distribution farm tap serviced by energy transfer company (etc). As a result of the vehicle incident, the farm tap was fragmented at ground level, resulting in a release of natural gas from etcs transmission pipeline. Etc exposed line 3019 and replaced the existing riser with a new 2-inch riser to supply the center point distribution farm tap. The work was completed on july 18, 2024, in conjunction with a scheduled encroachment project.

Investigation Status Details
This event did not generate alarms as gas leakage vented to the atmosphere via 1-inch piping at the centerpoint tap connection. Etc's upstream overpressure devices adjusted flow, increasing gas flow and maintaining flow rates and pressure, and did not exceed set points that would have generated alarms. (the leak and flow rate was insufficient to create alarms.)
