On june 14, 2024, during routine line patrols, gulf south discovered a small leak on its bistineau storage field well a-11 line, referred to as index 900-8. The well was shut in and the pipe section was isolated and depressurized. The responses provided to all part c questions are based on the pipe segment but until excavation occurs, it is unknown if the leak is in the pipe body or the pipe seam. A supplemental report will be submitted when repairs are complete. Updated 12/11/24: the preliminary responses in part c are confirmed to be correct; the leak was on the pipe body. A pipeline replacement was completed and the line was returned to service on november 15, 2024. The cause was determined to be internal corrosion. Updated 4/11/25: this report was retracted on 3/24/25 following discussions with PHMSA regarding reporting criteria for underground natural gas storage incidents. Phmsa then determined the event met incident reporting criteria and re-activated the report on 4/3/25. This update is to resubmit the report as requested.
