Narrative
On november 6, 2024, socalgas crews responded to the ventura mountain fire with an unknown cause. The fire spread to various socalgas facilities, resulting in a release of natural gas that was secondary to the fire. Crews worked to control the release of natural gas as the area became safe. No injuries or fatalities resulted from this incident related to the release of natural gas. The incident was initially reported to the DOT and cpuc due to the release of natural gas with media coverage and costs associated with the incident potentially exceeding $145,400. Out of the 141 impacted distribution services, 62 required restores. The quantity of natural gas escape is currently unknown.
