Narrative
On 11/6/2024 at 20:24, bge gas dispatch received a call from harford county fire department regarding a vehicle into a single-family residential structure at 1702 woodhome dr. Bel air, md 21015. A gas technician arrived on site at 20:58 and found that the vehicle had struck the gas meter and regulator set and ignited. The technician canvassed a total of 7 nearby homes and found no other gas readings. The gas meter and regulator set was approximately 60' from the nearest roadway. Gas crews were able to excavate and squeeze-off the 1/2" plastic gas service at 22:30, which extinguished the fire. The driver fled the scene and was later apprehended and charged with several related offenses.
