Narrative
On october 31, 2024, a third-party excavator operating a bulldozer damaged a properly located and marked 10-inch steel main line. Columbia gas of ohio, inc. ("columbia") took immediate action to repair the leak and set up a perimeter and began monitoring the leak. Columbia monitored the leak as it remained non-hazardous and welded two 10-inch stopple fittings on the main line to bypass the damage for permanent repairs. The permanent repairs were made, and the bypassed section was placed back in service on november 1, 2024. Please consider this a final report.
