Narrative
Termite contractor was setting termite test stations with handheld power auger. Contractor failed to call in locates prior to digging. Damaged 3/4" service line in close proximity to house, specifically the electric meter. After a short time blowing gas ignited, spreading to the house, mainly the attic area. Reignition occurred after attempting to extinguish the fire so north alabama gas personnel closed a main line valve feeding the subdivision. Service line was eventually capped upstream of the damage and service was restored to the subdivision at 11:13 a.M. On 10/15/24.
