Narrative
06-28-2024: the san gabriel mountains suffered an unprecedented snowstorm event in february and march of 2023, causing major snow levels with wide ranging impact, including significantly limiting access to the affected area. It was recently discovered that there was a release of natural gas, caused by excessive snow accumulation, which led to pipeline damage that potentially resulted in property damages over $129,300 at these locations: 591 golf course rd, lake arrowhead on 24 feb 2023, 910 crest fern drive, unit a, lake arrowhead, ca 92352 on 1 march 2023, 772 sierra vista drive, twin peaks, ca 92391 on 3 march 2023, 26520 augusta drive, lake arrowhead, ca 92352 on 4 march 2023, and 30683 ferndale drive, running springs, ca 92382 on 4 march 2023. Cpuc sed was aware of the extreme weather event and socalgas did provide a courtesy call to the cpuc on 03/02/2023 with up-to-date information at that time. During the snowstorm event, socalgas, which had limited access to the impacted area, was unaware that reporting criteria had been met. Gas loss calculations and damage costs within this form are best effort estimations and are totals of all five (5) addresses combined. Responses in a10e, a16, and a17 are associated with the second location of 910 crest fern drive, as socalgas did not become aware of the events at 591golf course rd until later.
