Narrative
On may 5, 2024 dominion energy utah (deu) was notified of a house fire at 2144 jordan way, eagle mountain, utah. Upon arrival the technician noted that the meter was damaged and melted due to the extreme heat of the fire. Deu crew proceeded to excavate two remote bell holes utilizing squeeze bars on the 2" plastic main to isolate the 3/4" plastic service feeding the structure. After repairs were made and fire extinguished, the fire department declared that structure located at 2144 jordan way (origin of the fire) along with a secondary structure located at 2150 jordan way (ignited due to proximity) were both complete losses. An additional structure located at 2158 jordan way was shut off and evacuated as precautionary. Access to the site was restricted at this point in order for the fire department to perform its investigation. Deu crew retired roughly 50' of 2" plastic main and performed a leak screening of the surrounding area with no leaks detected. Calculation of gas loss was not completed due to not having complete information. An investigation is currently ongoing and this is believed to be a fire first event.
