Explosion at private residence of 3325 n 53rd st in lincoln ne. This resulted in damage to the residence and injury to the single occupant. The gas meter serving this residence was damaged from the structure explosion, released natural gas, and ignited. Gas service to the meter was shut off after digging it up close to the main and pinching off. Cause of explosion is unknown and still under investigation. Property loss is yet unknown and under investigation. ***updated (8/15/2025)*** explosion at private residence of 3325 n 53rd st in lincoln ne. This resulted in damage to the residence and injury to the single occupant and fire damage to the neighboring structure located north of primary residence. The gas meter serving the primary residence was damaged from the structure explosion, released natural gas, and ignited. Gas service to the meter was shut off after digging it up close to the main and pinching off. Exact cause of natural gas leak and resulting explosion is disputed.
