Update: january 13, 2025 - the event remains under investigation. On december 24, 2023, at approximately 9:30 a.M., atmos energy received a notification of an explosion and structure fire. The first atmos energy tech arrived on the scene at 9:34 a.M. And requested additional company resources. At 5:43 p.M., the gas system in the vicinity was isolated and shut off. According to the report of the bell county fire marshall's office, there was 1 fatality, 1 hospitalization, and 4 other individuals with non-life threating injuries reported at the affected residence. This event is still under investigation. The volume of gas released (part a, 21c) is still unknown at this time. A value of 1 was entered as it is the lowest value that will validate in the field. The cost estimates in part d have not been finalized.
