Narrative
10/25/23 sandhills permian on call tech received a callout from p66 houston control center for midland pump station gas detector alarm @ 9:00 pm. When tech arrived on site at approximately 9:30 pm he noticed an ice ball on the body bleed on esdv mov 702. The tech was able to tighten up the body bleed and get the leak to slow down. At 9:50 pm he notified sandhills permian supervisor mark barrera. The pump station was shut down and mov 702 closed so the valve could be assessed, and repair/replacement of the body bleed completed. Leak was stopped at 10:00 pm. Compliance, engineering, and hse were all notified around 9:50 pm. There was a short delay in communications due to the technician on site losing cell service. Leak calculation was completed by engineering at 10:25 pm, and the calculation results determined the leak was reportable >5 gallons. At 10:43 pm DOT specialist made notification to txrc 24-hour emergency number. Note: supplemental report changed times using the 24 hr clock at the request of PHMSA.
