Narrative
On 10/15/2023, at approximately 05:00, an operator was standing by for a switch at texoma manifold and noticed oil on the ground. On further investigation, he found a pin hole leak at the 6 o'clock position on a 30-inch line inside the manifold. The shift supervisor was notified immediately as well as the onsite cleanup crew. Approximately 21 gallons of crude oil was released. Clean-up crew and vacuum truck arrived to the site to remove product and contaminated soil. Investigation determined the pinhole leak was due to internal corrosion. A temporary clamp was installed to stop the leak. The temporary clamp will stay in place until a permanent repair is made which will include a cutout and replacement. A corrosion specialist took ut readings around the clamped area and did not show that there were other thin areas on the pipe. Operations is working on an inhibitor injection program to prevent reoccurrence.
